That’s right, peeps! My sister Maisie and I celebrated our 12th birthday on Friday.
Mom is busy with book stuff, so I thought I’d take over the blog today and share a few pics of us to commemorate the event.
Lazy Maisie SundayI love my scratching postOur perpetual kittenI love this scratching post too!Enjoying Mom’s lapThat time when Mom forgot to put our dishes back after cleaning the floor. That time I didn’t give my sister sufficient purchase.Looking a little peeved here. Maybe because Mom is taking too many pics.
Thanks for visiting us and have a purr-fect week! Head bumps and sandpaper kisses, ♥Vivian♥
Vivian K. Perry here, sharing a pic of me sneaking a catnap during a busy afternoon at the office.
I’m pleased to report that my sutures were taken out on Tuesday—thank you, Nurse Marilyn—the dreaded Elizabethan collar/cone has been tossed, and life has mostly returned to normal.
My sister Maisie and I don’t get to go outdoors nearly as much now; that’s the only downside.
But I have bounced back from my vicious attack last month, and I’m more than grateful to resume my usual workaday routine.
Vivian K. Perry here, back for another guest blog on Jennifer’s Journal. I have new photos to share today!
We had snowy, blowy weather last night, which gave us pretty windows to look through when we woke up. As much as Maisie and I don’t like it when it gets too cold, sometimes snow can add an aesthetic appeal to our long winters.
The first pic shows some of Jennifer’s other cats.
Now on to us real kitties…
At first, I thought I would like it outdoors today. I quickly changed my mind. Maisie seems oblivious to my discomfort. (Please disregard the high-tech reading lamp) I am quickly let back inside, and then… …the shoe is on the other paw! Ha! Snow on her nose 🙂
Thanks for taking a look through the window on our world.
See you next time!
How is your winter going?
Do you have snow where you live?
Hello, y’all! Vivian K. Perry here,
back on Jennifer’s Journal today to tell you how much I love this post.
No, no, no, not this blog post (shakes furry head). This fence post!
Now that summer is here,
I take time out of every one of my days to prowl around Perry’s Point.
This is my favourite perch – a bird’s-eye view, if you will –
where I can keep a sharp lookout for little creatures in the grass like voles and shrews.
Now that sister Maisie and I will soon be turning nine,
we’ve finally come to terms with our limitations
and admit the birds around here are too smart and swift for us to actually hunt.
Jennifer says that’s a good thing, but we disagree.
I’ve been known to sit and wait here patiently for hours. I kid you not.
Hmm. Unfortunately, not much stirring here this afternoon.
I’ll check back again after sunset.
In the meantime, I think I’ll run out to the end of the point…
Yay! Vivian here, letting everyone know it is our birthday today.
My sister, Maisie and I, have turned eight years old,
and we think it’s time for us to celebrate!

Vivian’s View From Here: Centre of Attention
Until next time, Maisie and I wish you all a purr-fect remainder to your summer.
As for today, don’t party too hardy for our sake;
simply enjoy a nice little treat or two in our honour.
Welcome back, my peeps and pets, to Vivian’s View From Here.
Today we take a page from my Summer Travel Diary. Our “staff” took a break from St. John’s this past week
to spend three nights at Kilmory Resort near Swift Current. It was beautiful and secluded there in our pine log chalet,
which, of course, was right up our alley. Maisie and I especially loved the loft, because we like perching up high. So peaceful, so cozy… We weren’t particularly fond of the noise from the jacuzzi jets, however. But we appreciated the bird’s-eye view of our beloved staff. Here I am practising my “lumbersexual” poses. That’s a thing! If you never heard of it, go google it! I’ll wait. 🙂 As nice and comfy as it was, after a while
we grew weary of having to staying indoors. “Hey, I hear lots of birds and squirrels!” Maisie meows. “Can you please let us out?” After all, we’re used to going out all the time on Perry’s Point. And look how beautiful and sunny it is out there! Please??? Begging works! Our staff fashioned makeshift leashes,
so we could explore outdoors for a bit.
Thanks for dropping by, everyone!

Good afternoon, all of you precious peeps out there!
Whether you’re of the furry variety of friend or not, welcome back to Jennifer’s Journal. Maisie and I LOVE when you drop by for a visit, and even more so when we are allowed to be front and centre.
Jennifer woke up with a pesky migraine this morning and couldn’t concentrate on writing, so I suggested she relax, look at some pretty pictures of us, and let me do the talking. So here I am.
As many of you already know, my sister and I have enjoyed being the centre of attention in Jennifer’s “animal-loving world” since 2007, when she and our “dad” rescued us as kittens from the pound. Are we spoiled? Nah. How can one be spoiled by too much love?
And guess what? She hardly misses an opportunity to tell us how she adores being woken up each morning by our soft nudges and warm cuddles, and how much happiness we bring to her life in general.
When she leaves us to go in town for nine or ten days at the end of this week, I know for certain she will miss our fluffy, friendly, purring cuteness more than she’s willing to admit.
We, on the other hand, will muddle through somehow until she gets back.
At least our “dad” will be here with us most of the time.
Jennifer will have to make do with these other critters for animal companionship at her daughter’s house…
Can you imagine? Such a profound sacrifice!
Ginger & Nico
Something tells me, however, that she kind of likes that other cat — and stranger still, that big, curly, doggie creature. Go figure. And I’ll bet you dollars to dentabone treats she’s going to smell like him too, when she comes home. (Ugh!)
But that’s par for the course when you own a human who loves all animals, not just her own. She knows we understand. And she knows we will be waiting here with eager purrs and sandpaper smooches when she returns.
Signing off now, so until next time, thanks for reading, everyone!
