It’s been a rather feline week here at home.
You’re probably thinking: “Isn’t every week a feline one at your house, Jennifer?”
Well, yes, but I took more pictures!
Let’s start with Maisie last Sunday.

Then there was a visit from another cat on Monday. Maisie did a double take.

And to round out the week:

*Thank you for the photo ops, Maisie!*
Getting back to that 70’s song:
“…She comes out of the sun
in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain
Don’t bother asking
for explanations
She’ll just tell you that she came
In the year of the cat…”
They don’t write ’em like that anymore.
❤
How was your week?
Oh I’m so late to this party – please forgive my tardiness, Jennifer! I love these pictures. Cats are so amusing to me. And as for the boxes, “If it fits, I sits” is exactly right! Hope you had a good week 🙂

No apology necessary, Barbara. I find it hard at times to keep up with the blogs I follow. We can’t be online 24/7.
I’m happy you liked the pics of our little Maisie. Though they turn 12 this summer, it seems like Maisie is getting cuter!

Love this post! Reminds me of my favourite poem by Edward Lear:
“The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
‘O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!’

That was daughter’s favourite when she was a little girl! It was in a book with the most beautiful illustrations. 😊 Fond memories.

I am with you daughter – I remember when my mother would read the poem to me at bedtime so that I would dream peacefully.

The perfect book for that. 😊

Sure do. My two make beelines for any empty box. And suitcases, bags, open cupboards…etc. Thanks, Andrea!

‘Not Vivian’ looks just like the newest neighborhood cat that I now feed. Yes, through the window only. Piper is fascinated with her tail and tries to play with it through the glass. Parker just stares and gives ‘the look.’ That has replaced ‘the hiss.’ Cats are a never ending source of entertainment.

Never ending entertainment is right. Wow, you have another mouth to feed? When I posted this new kitty’s photo on Facebook, I found out he has on owner but likes to roam the town. 😻

Four outdoor cats now. Turns out they go between my backyard neighbor and my house….that we know of. They are playing us, Jennifer! 😀

I didn’t recognize the name Al Stewart until I looked him up on Youtube. Wasn’t that a beautiful song. Love the photo “Sorry, Mom says you’re not allowed in.”

It is a beautiful song for sure, and I’m biased about my cats. Thanks for the visit! 🙂

Jennifer, you do take some delightful photos. Cats are very photogenic but nevertheless, you need to catch the moment. What about opening the door and see what the two beauties decide? 😊 .

Thanks, Miriam. I’m afraid if I had opened the door to our little visitor, there would have been a major cat fight! I neglected to mention Maisie put her face up against the glass and hissed at him. Meanwhile, Vivian looked on like an old dog. 🙂

So nice to read your comment, Louise! Funny about that song – when it was released I was a teenager obsessed with other singers, so I didn’t appreciate it fully until much later. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
