I never get tired of looking at pictures from our trip to Europe. Here are some favourites I revisited for Cee’s Photo Challenge today.
First, a few from Tuscany, Italy.

And on to Paris, France:

And finally, one from Cannes:

Wow! Wonderful and atmospheric photos, Jennifer! Black and White real capture the sense of continental Europe! And I viewed the top one with nostalgia, all those people so close together in Florence. A city I love to visit and luckily on sunny days … so far!

Annika, I envy you living so much closer than I to many beautiful countries! As you mentioned Florence, the scene I captured happened to be between showers. You can see some tourists wearing rain gear in the photo. But those showers didn’t dampen our excitement one bit! 😀

Fun photos, Jennifer. I love architecture and would probably go wild over there with photos. The black and white brings out the details beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Diana. I could have shared many more from that trip (I didn’t even get to my Rome and northern Italy photos), but what I did select did the job, I think. 😊

The black and white really lets the architecture stand out. Stunning!

That is precisely what black and white does! It makes all the lines stand out, and in a moody way too.

Very atmospheric pictures Jennifer. I once spent the early hours of the night beside the Louvre’s pyramid with some friends. It was Bastille Day and we had thought that there would be places open all night, but then everything began to close down and we had to wander Paris all night until our train was due the following morning!

Ha ha, Andrea, you pulled an all-nighter in Paris?! That had to be memorable, to say the least. But if you had to wander any city all night, Paris is a fine choice!

I’m so fortunate that I’ve seen many of these buildings – they look so dramatic in black and white!

They do, don’t they? I admit I didn’t entirely “get” black and white photography at first, but I see now how it creates a different mood and helps you see so much more than colour. Thanks, Meg.

Thanks Jen. So beautiful. Great memory for you. I have never been there, hopefully some day when the Covid is under control.

Thanks for sharing these, Jennifer. Black and white photos are so interesting to look at. I like the one of the sightseers in Florence. I was in Europe a long time ago (in my twenties) and we went to Cannes. What a beautiful place!

My pleasure, Barbara. I love that one too. There were many crowds when we visited, unlike now I guess. Cannes was a delight!

Occasionally a movie is filmed in black and white. I’d like to see a new TV series go the B&W route. Maybe it’s happened and I just don’t know about it.

I don’t know either, but there probably are.

Thanks, Jill! I think I’d prefer the puzzles in colour, though.

I recognize these beautiful buildings and they look so intense and different in black-and-white! I’ve been to Florence three times so far and I could easily go three times more – what a city! Beautiful photos Jennifer. 💚

Thanks, Pam. Three times, wow! I would go back in a heartbeat. It’s an absolutely stunning city.

The details stand out when the pictures are in black and white. A great selection.
