Thanks to two local photographers, you can see why Newtown has been nicknamed “the Venice of Newfoundland.” The community is like an archipelago, connected by a series of causeways and bridges.

I think it’s pretty cool that our house can be seen in both photos. 🙂
So beautiful – I’d love to see the water every day! 🙂

Looks kinda dreary out there today, Pam, but most days I LOVE living here. Thanks!

I suppose the dreary days help us appreciate the bright sparkling ones that much more. 🙂

How cool. I would love to live on the water like that. I might worry a bit about flooding though. ❤

Well it ain’t the Florida keys exactly but yes, I can’t help but think of flooding when I look at these pics. We are still well above sea level right now though, and we should be long gone if and when it gets swallowed up. 😀

From the images, it looks like your right on the water. I’m glad to hear that there’s some elevation. You live in a beautiful area. 😀

What’s funny is that I was just drafting a bit of fiction about a house tumbling into the sea. Let’s hope it stays fiction. 😀

Absolutely stunning, Jennifer and makes the spirit soar! 😀 It reminds me of the archipelago of islands where my grandparents lived and where some of my cousins still live on the west coast of Sweden! There is nothing quite like living near the ocean!

Wow, thanks for telling me that about the lovely west coast of Sweden, Annika. And yes, I don’t think there is any place quite as nice as the seaside. Stormy winter days and all! I hope I can always see the ocean on any given day.
Enjoy the week ahead! 🙂

I love them too. As for a beautiful place to live, I’m somewhat biased. 🙂

These photos are great, Jennifer! I didn’t know you were up in Newfoundland. I live in Nova Scotia and have visited in the past.

Thanks, Ang. And I didn’t know you lived in Nova Scotia. Heck, I didn’t know you were Canadian! I’ve visited NS too. I have relatives in the Halifax area. 🙂
