Ailsa’s photo challenge this week is the Sky.
Here are a few of my personal favourites taken by our home here in Newfoundland.

Husband must have stood on a small hill because he isn’t that much taller than the rest of us. 🙂

I love, love, love the eastern provinces! Stunning! I stood above the Atlantic the year after my son died. The ocean roared as it slammed tons of seawater onto the beach. The sound filled my chest. For a few blessed moments there was no room for thoughts of sadness. All I could do was just stand there and be. Thank you for prompting me to remember that.

Thank you for telling me this, Susan. First allow me to offer my sincere condolences on the loss of your son. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss.
I know what you mean about nature’s wonders helping with grief. Living here has helped me too, I am sure of that. Something about the wind and the open sky, and yes, the crashing waves, have comforted me over the past three years since we moved here.
Thank you for following, and take care. x

Thanks, Elizabeth. It is part of my family, with our son-in-law, but my son isn’t in this pic. I agree, the sky came out magnificently!

The first four were taken within the past year but the last one is around nine years old when our house was still a summer house, and we were on vacation with my daughter and her husband. They were married but didn’t have any children yet. Cool sky, eh?
