With all of the rain, drizzle and fog November has given us here in Newfoundland, our beautiful sunsets have been practically nonexistent.
I so miss the vibrant colours! Does dreary weather affect your mood?

This is a beautiful photo, Jennifer. We are now in the dreary months and they do affect my mood, but getting outside, even when it’s not very nice out there, gives me a lift (once I’m back inside, that is…). Happy 2025!

Thank you, Barbara! We’ve gotten a lot more sunshine since I posted this, thank heaven. And with that, I have been taking a lot more walks outside. Hardly any snow here yet, but that might change very soon. 🙂🌨️❄️

Hi Jennifer – We got snow today – everything was closed, but we didn’t get more than 2 inches!

Where I live, it’s pretty dreary too, Jennifer. A splash of blue sky is rare and welcome. Beautiful sunset photo!

I always prefer it when there’s ‘weather’ of some kind. Gorgeous sky.

It’s the monotony of “sameness” that gets to me, Andrea, even if that means the sun shines every day. I’m a variety kind of gal when it comes to weather. 😊

Jennifer, it’s good you could go back in time to share this beautiful autumn sunset! Thank you! Yes, grey raining and cold days sometimes feel like wading through gloopy soup; physically, mentally and emotionally challenging – I have to pull myself up and with candles, lights and warmth and family and then cheer up no end! hugs, Annika xx

I hear you, Annika. Thankfully, the sun came out this morning and I relished a nice long walk. Crossing my fingers for another one tomorrow! ☀️🤞

Hi there. My guess is that weather affects many people’s moods, at least some of the time. Warm, sunny days are a lot more appealing than rainy, cold ones!

Hi Neil. You’re right of course. I have nothing against changes in weather, but any type that never changes can become very monotonous. I’m trying not to let it affect me but it isn’t easy!

Well, that’s a gorgeous sunset. Glad you have the photo so you can remind yourself of the possible 🙂 Since we have more sun than rain in northern Florida, an occasional dreary day can be nice, to use as an excuse to curl up with a book or knit (or both in my case). But more than two or three dreary days and we get antsy. I hope the weather clears up for you!

Hi Marie, and thanks. As the previous commenter also mentioned, Florida can make you long for a dreary day now and then. Why don’t we trade for a few days? 😁

That would be be nice 🙂

Living here in sunny Florida, sometimes I really look forward to a rainy day. No storms, but just a nice rainy day.

Hi Lois. I have no problem with a rainy day or even a rainy week, but parts of the island have been breaking records for the wettest month ever. And I’m hoping it doesn’t mean we will be buried with snow when it gets colder. 😟

Oh, dear. That’s not good! We finally turned on the heat yesterday. We’ve been breaking records for the heat here. The weather is so strange all over. Wishing you just enough snow.

Thanks, Lois. We had a near-perfect summer and even October was quite nice. Yes, the weather is indeed strange all over. I suppose I should be grateful we aren’t dealing with floods and such.
