Hi there, friends! My name is Gordon—aka Gordie, and that’s Louie cuddled in behind me.
I’m guest posting for Jennifer today, who has had so much existential dread lately that she can’t seem to get up the gumption to blog like she used to. Fear not, though. I’m sure she’ll be back on track soon.
I wanted to share with you some pics of what my silly “brother by another mother” has been up to since we moved in with Jennifer and Paul back in September. Because I’m three and he is only one, I’ve been trying to have the upper hand, you know, to keep him in line.

But Louie is simply beyond my ability to control. He is always into something! Here are a few examples:

He jumped up to this chandelier until he finally succeeded to grab this:

Then he turned his attention to these starfish on the wall:

…but was unsuccessful because Jennifer scolded him so many times.
But he did manage to make off with this whatchamacallit from the bathroom in the middle of the night (tore it right off the chain!):

Then Louie decided to grab a couple of things that weren’t nailed on, such as this thingamabob:

…and this doohickey from the wall:

In spite of all his antics, we do have lots of fun together…

…and I think we’re going to keep him. 💙
Such adorable boys! Louie seems like a handful, much like our Raji who is probably five years old but often acts like a kitten 🙂 He does like to chase Wendy, our other cat, around. She’s several years his senior, but I think having a younger cat around adds years to the older cat’s life. I love Gordie and Louie’s markings. They do look like they could be brothers.

Hi Marie. When we visited the shelter and saw Louie after having our hearts set on Gordie, our minds were quickly made up to adopt them both. In part because they matched! 😄 And yes, I said the same thing about the younger cat being good for the older one’s health. Louie most definitely keeps Gordie active.
Stay tuned for Louie’s side of things in the next post!

Well said, Gordie. Louie’s a bit wild, isn’t he, but I’m sure you’ll put him right…eventually. 😺

Gordie–what a great post! And what a handful your brother is! 😻 My girls think you are both very cute. White Paws is non-committal.
The photos are adorable, Jennifer. But the incriminating evidence photos are a riot! 😹Oh, kittens! Like children, they grow up much too fast.

Hi Lois, thanks. I thought Gordie should provide evidence of Louie’s mischief, otherwise folks may not believe him! 😄And yes, Louie is like a big kitten for sure. I guess things will calm down around here eventually. 😳

Thank you Gordie! I’m so glad you guest posted. I’m right there with Jennifer in the existential dread. You kitties keep us going.
😼😼 A note from Audrey’s cat, Ozzy… “I am jealous of all the stealing of light sequins and thing-a-bobs. My humans don’t let me get away with any of that. And even though I’m closer to three than one, I still manage to leave chaos wherever I go!”

Thanks for weighing in, Audrey and Ozzy. It’s a rare cat that doesn’t enjoy some mischief, no matter what their age. But yes, they do keep us going too. 💙

Apparently, Louie wants to do the next guest post, because he has a couple of choice stories to tell about his bro. Stay tuned! 😊

You two monkeys are so darn cute. Great blog post Gordie! Are you named after Gordie Howe or Gordon Lightfoot? Keep your little brother in line now. xo

Gordie appreciates your feedback, Darlene, and says he’ll do his best where Louie is concerned.
I was thinking about several Gordons in naming him. Gordon Pinsent, Gordon Lightfoot, Gordie Howe (my dad’s favourite hockey player), but actually he was named after Gordon Downie. 🙂❤️

Oh my, Gordon Downie, now that is very special. My daughter was looking after a cat called, Gordon Lightfoot, and when I visited her, the cat liked to snuggle with me. I called my husband one night to let him know I was OK and sleeping with Gordon Lightfoot. It’s been an ongoing family joke for years!

Haha, thanks for sharing that with me, Darlene. Lightfoot is kind of a nice name for a cat! xo
