Cee Neuner’s challenge for photographers yesterday* reminds me of this photo I took back in August. I captured the spider and her masterpiece through my kitchen window that fog-shrouded night, not knowing how the outdoor light on our house would illuminate its detail so well, especially the misty moisture that clings to every intricate strand of the web. The overall effect reminds me of fine gold chain.

“The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.” – Pablo Picasso
What an incredible photo! A spider’s web is so intricate, so fragile looking but strong, and used metaphorically in so many ways in our lives. For good reason.

Hi Pam, so sorry for my late reply! I have immense respect for spiders, and to look at this masterpiece you can see why. Thanks for visiting—-I’ll be over to visit your blog soon. ☺️

I know, right? Thanks, Lois.
Btw, I hope you were out of harm’s way when Hurricane Ian passed through!

I was. I’m tucked way up in the Panhandle–NW Florida. I think we were probably one of the few areas that Ian did not touch. The rest of the state is such a mess. Thanks, Jennifer.

I’m glad you escaped it. So sad to hear there were fatalities. We were lucky that Hurricane Fiona spared us too. No such luck for the southwest coast and many parts of Atlantic Canada.
