Celebrating Earth Day

Under blue heavens
we listen to the waves roll,
sand between our toes

This year’s theme for Earth Day is Restore Our Earth. This includes goals and actions such as reforestation, regenerative agriculture and sustainable food, plastic cleanups, climate literacy, and citizen science.

Each and every one of us can play a part in healing and preserving our environment.

  1. Recycle. Recycle. Recycle. I so believe in that. Also, banning plastic. Here in the Boston area straws are now paper, not plastic. We pick up litter on our walks. So sad to see how some people still throw used bottles/cans out onto the street. Last weekend we drove through several states, and in CT big highway signs said “Your car window is not for throwing out trash” or something like that. How sad that people have to be reminded of that. To our beautiful EARTH.

    1. Oh, Pam, I know just how you feel. It boggles the mind when folks throw trash out their car windows. Would it kill them to bring it home and dispose of it properly? We are always recycling and reusing whenever possible. Another thing that bothers me are single use water bottles. I know they’re recyclable but why not invest in a reusable bottle?

      1. Yeah you just gotta make sure if you use paper bags that frozen stuff doesn’t get a chance to make the bag wet. I keep forgetting to bring in reusable ones. I’ve had a couple paper bags tear open at the bottom 😆
