I know, I know. Lou and Gord don’t go out in the yard. They are indoor cats. However, we are considering buying leashes and harnesses to take them outside when summer comes. We’ll see!

Lovely photos, Jennifer!
We take our cat Misty outside in a harness and leash every morning. Took a bit of training of him and us, but now it works very well. 🙂

Thanks, Dave! Do you take Misty out in the winter too? I suppose once we start, they will want to go out all the time. Any tips you can share with me on training them would be much appreciated. 🙂

Yes, we’ve done it year round since 2018, but as Misty gets older (he’s about 10 now), he usually takes shorter walks in the winter or doesn’t go out at all when we give him the option.
We tend to give Misty a treat to help lure him into the harness, and give him another treat when he comes back inside. During the first few weeks of walks in ’18, we held on to the leash at all times, but then gradually dropped the leash at times while still following closely behind.
Given that you have two kitties, it would of course be harder for you than it has been for us.

Yes, double trouble, haha. Thank you, Dave for taking the time to share your tips. We aren’t entirely sure if we will yet, but would like to give it a go. As I said in the post, we will see!

“Double trouble” — 🙂 Good luck if you decide to go the harness route, Jennifer! If you do, I imagine we’ll see a blog post about it. 🙂

Kate, are you referring to the cats, or the staircase? 😀

The cats of course! 🙂

I thought so. Though the 102 year-old staircase isn’t too shabby. lol

When there are cats in the pictures, I don’t see anything else. I’ve had cats with a lot of white in them but your cats are bright white. Sasha has a white belly but prefers to distribute her white floofs all over the floor.

I hear ya. Maybe cleaner because they’re indoor cats?

When we first got them, they were slightly timid. Now they act entitled! 😆😻
