Fourteen Years

Hey, folks!
WordPress informs me that I have an anniversary. As of yesterday, I have been blogging for fourteen years.

Truth be told—and as many of you know—I don’t blog as often as I used to, but I’ll try to keep posting for a few years yet. And maybe Gord and Lou Purry can do more guest posts to help out!

I have also reached my 2025 Reading Challenge as of yesterday, with fifty books read, all accounted for on Goodreads.

Have you taken a Reading Challenge this year?
And bloggers: how long have you been blogging?

Do tell! Chat soon in the New Year!

  1. Jennifer, congratulations on so many years here on WP and that is dedication indeed. The friendships and community here are the heart of blogging! This is my 12th year of blogging and I still remember how nervous I was publishing my first post. Congrats on the Goodreads challenge as well – it is fun getting all the stats at the end of the year. I’ll be sharing my Goodreads 2025 in my next post. Look forward to your post this year – and definitely enrol a bit of support from you cats!

    1. Thanks so much, Annika. 12 years is certainly nothing to sneeze at. I think a big part of what keeps me here IS the wonderful sense of community it offers. I would miss the friends I’ve made for sure, and that includes you. 😊

  2. Congratulations, Jennifer! What a milestone. And congrats on meeting your book reading goal. I tend to listen to audiobooks and I might average one or two a week (depending on how riveting the story is). I should check and see how I fared this year.

Also … Happy New Year to you and yours!

    1. Thanks, Marie! You probably have exceeded my total, then. Fun fact: I listened to my very first audiobook this past August—it was my latest book release, The Women of Wild Cove. 😄 And I must say, I was impressed. Happy New Year to you! 💕

  3. Congratulations on 14 wonderful years of blogging. That’s truly inspiring.🙏🏻👏

I’ve been blogging for about four years now. Writing always interested me, but my career left little room for it. After retirement, I finally gave myself the time to write, and I’m thoroughly enjoying this new chapter of the journey.🙏🏻💛

      1. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
That’s very kind of you. I’m truly enjoying this phase, and the encouragement means a lot, especially as I’m also launching my memoir later this month. 😊🙏🏻

  4. Congratulations! I’ve been blogging since 2011, but left WordPress for Substack a few years ago (traitorous, I know).

As for reading challenges… I started out closer to your number, but mine have dwindled to an embarrassing low (21, plus two that I haven’t yet reviewed), partly because I’ve been doing a lot of editing of unpublished work, which I can’t count in the Goodreads challenge.

Keep up the reading and writing, and all the best for 2026!

    1. Hi Audrey, and thank you. I was wondering where you went, as I’ve only seen you on other social media lately (Instagram I think!).
Don’t feel bad about reading challenges. It’s not a contest, and you’ve been productive in other wonderful ways. Best of 2026 to you too!

      1. This month was 12 years for me. Oh, my girls (and White Paws) would LOVE to hear from your boys! That would be some kind of fun!

It is kind of funny when you said you would try to keep posting for a few years yet. So many have left our blogging world. I always hope they just left because they ran out of things to post….I still worry, though, when all of a sudden they are gone.

        1. 12 years—not too shabby! Especially the fact that you blog so often. 😊
Yes, so many of my old blogger pals have stopped posting. I recently went through all my subscriptions and you wouldn’t believe how many have disappeared. Has everyone gone to podcasts?? I don’t think folks are reading more books, I’m pretty sure of that.
Anyway, thanks for “staying alive” here, my friend! 💕
