On September 27th, Paul and I visited Gander SPCA. We did not come home empty-handed.
- Introducing: Gordon Downie
PerryPurry

Gordon—aka Gord or Gordie—is three years old and quite the sweetheart. He has some emotional baggage as a result of his life so far, but I think he is adjusting very well to his new home on Perry’s Point. Here he is on my lap on his very first day with us, purring up a storm. And…
2. Introducing: Lou Reed Perry Purry

Lou—aka Lewis or Louie—is only one year old and acts like a kitten most of the time, tearing around the house and enticing his new brother to play with him. We are pretty sure he likes his new digs as well.
Sleepy boys enjoying their catnaps:

We are thrilled with how well they are getting along. They didn’t meet until the day we adopted them because they were kept in separate rooms at the shelter. Yes, there is plenty of rambunctious play-fighting and running around, but for the most part they are civil and getting used to each other—and us!

”Home is where your cats are.”
🧡 I think Maisie and Vivian would approve. 🧡

”Saving one cat won’t change the world, but for that one cat their world will be forever changed.”

Have any of my friends and fellow bloggers adopted a pet recently? Do tell!

So nice to hear. I love their color coordination!

Thank you, Diana. They do seem to be settling in and making themselves quite at home here. It’s only been a month but I think we made the right choices adopting them. 😊

They are so adorable, Jennifer and I’m sure that sitting on the window sill will become one of their favorite activities with the gorgeous view out there!

Thanks so much. We are having a ball with them, getting to know them better. I wish you had signed your name though, instead of anonymous. I’m guessing you’re one of my cousins. 🙂🤷♀️

Yay, cats! They are beautiful boys!! I love their markings … it makes them look like brothers. I really appreciate that you opted for older cats. They are so much harder to place. Most of the strays we took in were full adults with a lot of baggage. Patience and love always win 😻

Hi Marie! They are very good boys, besides being beautiful. The baggage rescues often have is a challenge but love usually finds a way. ❤️

So happy for you and Paul! AND for the Purry Brothers! How exciting! They are such handsome boys. The pictures make me wish I could stroke their beautiful fur and hear their rumbling purrs.

So sorry I missed your comment yesterday! Thanks, Connie. We are so delighted with our Purry boys. Louie has the softest fur and the loudest purr but Gordie will stay cuddling the longest. 💕

They ARE wonderful, Kate. We are so happy to give them a fur-ever home with us. As I mentioned to another commenter, we preferred the adults to kittens because they might have been harder to place. 😊

This is wonderful news. Gordon and Lou are adorable and will give you so much joy. Love the names. Gord Downie would be delighted to have a cat named after him. All the pets we have had, cats and later dogs, have been adopted. The best thing to do. xo

Aww, thanks for the lovely sentiment about the Hip’s Gord Downie. We hadn’t even left Gander when I thought of that name. And I applaud you and anyone for adopting a needy animal. We thought it better to not bring home kittens as they are usually easier to place. We are very happy with our choices. 😊

Just looking at both sets of kitties from behind…wouldn’t Lou and Vivian make adorable bookends with that dark stripe across their backs and their tails? These kitties were definitely meant for you.

We’re in love too, Lois! It felt like kismet when we saw these two boys that day. Our home, and our hearts, are once again full. ❤️
You are very observant about the similarities between Vivian and Louie. Bookends indeed! 😻😻
