Vivian’s View From Here: “They say it’s my birthday”

Hello, my peeps! Apparently it’s my 13th birthday today, so I guess I have cause to celebrate.

I was feeling down and lonely because this birthday marks my first trip around the sun without my sweet sister Maisie. The good news though, is that I had a special visitor!

No no no—not that dog, Archie, who came here with his family this week. I’m glad he’s gone home.

I had a very unexpected visitor to Perry’s Point this weekend: a seal!

We usually see seals around here during the winter or spring, not in August. I wonder did he get lost? I hope not. In any case, his arrival caused a bit of a stir and had everyone running for their phones and cameras, including our neighbour Wayne. Here are a couple he captured with his camera.

  1. I’m a little late to the party, but Happy Birthday, Vivian. And I must admit, you are absolutely beautiful. You don’t look your age at all, but that makes sense, because what a glorious little kitty you were. Now, as far as the visit with the rather regal-looking Archie. Well, better that he’s left you and returned home. I’m sure he was a disturbance. On the other hand, the seal seems to know her place, even if she’s lost. On a rock in the sea. And what a stunning place you live in, Vivian. To many more happy years. ❤

    1. Thank you for the warm wishes and kind compliments, Ms. Pamela! Luckily, I don’t have to endure too many doggie visits, so it’s all good. My little seal friend has disappeared since last weekend so I’m hoping he found his herd. Please visit me again soon. Love, Vivian 😻

  16. Ahh … what an unusual visitor … first I thought it was one to the house but reckon the seal wouldn’t travel so far! Beautiful photos and you’re definitely the prettiest! Happy Sunday … may it be a peaceful one! xx

  17. Vivian—Happy Birthday to you!! Thirteen?? You look great! Whew! We were a bit concerned when you were excited about a visit from a dog!! Thank goodness, it turned out to be excitement over a seal. He is kind of cute–but not cuter than you, of course! We’re gonna tell our mom that we want treats today–in honor of you.
