I’ve been a certified sofa spud all weekend due to a bout of illness, but I have company. Her name is Maisie.

For those of you who are “old codgers”* like moi, you might be reminded of Dagwood Bumstead from Chic Young’s comic strip Blondie:
Or it might make you think of this guy, another legendary comic-strip couch potato:
I think I’ll go with the latter.
*Codger – derived from the expression: coffin dodger. You learn something new every day!

When my girls were little I would lay on the lounge and doze on and off while they played nearby, that is the only time I have done this, I am not a nap on the lounge type of person

Oh, I so miss Andy Capps! Not seen his comic strip in years. I will stick with Maisie, though; she is by far the cutest. Sorry about your illness, Jennifer. Hope you are feeling better.

Andy Capp and Dagwood remind me of my dad reading the newspaper and me reading the comics, years and years ago. A distinct memory. 🙂
