Happy Old Year :-)

For several reasons, 2014 was a happy and productive year for yours truly, and probably the most pleasant since we moved to Bonavista Bay North four years ago.

Fittingly, the most popular song of 2014 turned out to beΒ “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. With its simple, exuberant message and its cheerful beat, perhaps I’m not totally surprised it has become one of the bestselling singles of all time (Personally, I liked his hit “Get Lucky” a little bit more).

However, I find myself partial to the version below by Walk Off The Earth, a band from Burlington, Ontario. They are accompanied in this video by the American pop rock band,Β Parachute. Have a listen, and tell me what you think!

Thanks to Denise and Dave for introducing them to us a couple of years ago, and kudos to Paul for “feeling the endorphins release”. πŸ˜‰

What was your favourite happy song of 2014?

Was it a good year for you, or one you are glad to put behind you?

What is bringing you happiness right now?

  1. Favorite song this year? Hmm, it’s so difficult. I really liked George Ezra’s ‘Budapest’ and John Legend’s ‘All of Me’. Those are the first two that come to mind, but there are plenty more. Where would we be without music? πŸ™‚

  3. Love it! I’ve just found my new ‘Happy’ song. It’s been a difficult year for us here in Malaysia as we have just lost another plane on 28/12 after losing two planes in March and July respectively. But I’m happy knowing that my family and friends are well and safe. Hope 2015 would be a better year for us (>β€Ώβ— )✌

  4. I had to LOL at the “endorphin release”! I didn’t like the original version of Happy until I heard the Walk off the Earth cover. Now whenever I hear the original, the cover is playing in my head πŸ™‚

  5. Jennifer, our family loves listening to Walk Off the Earth. It’s impossible to sit still while enjoying their music. 2014 taught me that I have to, need to, and love to write. It was a good year because I made more room for creativity.

Blessings of creativity for 2015 ~ Wendy ❀
