Clouds

Happy first day of summer, friends!
We are experiencing an early heat wave here in Newfoundland, so our longed-for season received an early start.

Last week, while the weather was cooler and we were having our morning coffee out on the deck, we saw a cloud that was nothing short of spectacular. It started with a low bank of fog stretching across the entire horizon, but soon morphed into a tall white marvel.

And just before it dispersed, it grew even bigger:

On the eve of our heat wave, the sky and clouds were an artist’s tableau:

  1. Wow! What a spectacle while enjoying your morning coffee! Nature really wants to remind us now and then not to take if for granted with these amazing shows! I’m with Joni Mitchell; ‘I don’t really know clouds at all!’ Happy First of Summer and literally the first truly warm day for us to with promise of heat wave next week! Hope Canada keeps safe, I recall the news of all the fires there last summer.

    1. Hi Annika. It was a real treat that morning. I looked up similar images on Google and found an almost identical cloud in Cornwall England!
They have evacuated Churchill Falls in Labrador of all places because of forest fires.
I hope your summer is warm and sunny from here on in. 😊☀️
