Thank you for visiting my Author Website and my blog, Jennifer’s Journal, where my passion for life is an open book.
My blog is my hangout for sharing thoughts and observations on life here on Perry’s Point and my corner of the world in general, through poetry, prose, musings, and local and travel photography. I also offer writing and blogging advice under the heading For Writers & Bloggers.
Here is where this blog began: Follow the Yellow Brick Road
In 2010 my husband and I sold our house, packed up our belongings and of course our cats, Maisie and Vivian, and left the city to return to rural life in our beautiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
I have finished the engaging sequel to my recently published novel, Calmer Girls, a realistic coming-of-age tale set here in Newfoundland. Calmer Secrets – Calmer Girls II was released on March 21, 2017 in all Amazon stores.

As for the country life, my husband and I are fully enjoying it and have no regrets; we seem to be suited to the lifestyle. I’ll admit that the first winter was a challenge, missing folks in the city, and everything I was used to. Thank you, and yes WordPress is an amazing environment! I’m not too structured with my blogging, I don’t think I have a theme or agenda–other than hopefully offering some positive energy–I just enjoy the sharing of artistic vision and energy, learning from others, and letting loose a little with not adhering to strict writing rules. At the time, in terms of crafting manuscripts, I’m focused on a poetry project and a children’s book. Poetry is a main focus I’ve had throughout my life. I will definitely be visiting more, and thank you for taking the time to stop by! I also hope to get more photography up soon, haven’t had a workable camera for awhile. Good to meet you.

Oh, I’m so glad I found you, kindred spirit! I have always had a completely irrational longing to go to Newfoundland/Labrador. Seriously, I know absolutely no one else, who thinks about going there, and I’ve stopped mentioning it to anyone because when I do, I get a weird look that says, “you’ve got to be kidding”–because almost no one among my acquaintances even knows where it IS! I know that’s a very sad commentary on the way geography is taught in US schools, but it’s true.
Who knows whether I’ll ever be able to make that trip–but now I can do it vicariously through your writing and photography! Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,
I don’t know if you were aware of it, but around the time you started following my blog “arnnarn.com”, I was trying to reach a goal of a certain number of followers. When I reached that goal, the follower who got me to that number would receive a free, signed copy of my “Arn? Narn.” book upon publication. You are that person! Congratulations!
The book is due out in early October and I would like to send it to you. If you could send me the pertinent info, just your address, I’ll get it up to you. For confidentiality (and not posting here on your blog), if you would rather e-mail me the info, which I recommend, you can send it to bmeisterman@comcast.net.
Also and this is not necessary, if you wouldn’t mind, I would like to post that you won the book into one of my next blog entries. I would only mention your name, your blog and that you won.
Thanks again for following “arnnarn.com”.
