Black and White Photos: Buildings

I never get tired of looking at pictures from our trip to Europe. Here are some favourites I revisited for Cee’s Photo Challenge today.

First, a few from Tuscany, Italy.

Sightseeing around Florence
Duomo of Florence (Cathedral)
Piazza del Campo in Siena
Palazzo Pubblico, Siena

And on to Paris, France:

Arc de Triomphe
Louvre

And finally, one from Cannes:

  1. Wow! Wonderful and atmospheric photos, Jennifer! Black and White real capture the sense of continental Europe! And I viewed the top one with nostalgia, all those people so close together in Florence. A city I love to visit and luckily on sunny days … so far!

    1. Annika, I envy you living so much closer than I to many beautiful countries! As you mentioned Florence, the scene I captured happened to be between showers. You can see some tourists wearing rain gear in the photo. But those showers didn’t dampen our excitement one bit! 😀

  2. Very atmospheric pictures Jennifer. I once spent the early hours of the night beside the Louvre’s pyramid with some friends. It was Bastille Day and we had thought that there would be places open all night, but then everything began to close down and we had to wander Paris all night until our train was due the following morning!

    1. They do, don’t they? I admit I didn’t entirely “get” black and white photography at first, but I see now how it creates a different mood and helps you see so much more than colour. Thanks, Meg.

  3. Thanks for sharing these, Jennifer. Black and white photos are so interesting to look at. I like the one of the sightseers in Florence. I was in Europe a long time ago (in my twenties) and we went to Cannes. What a beautiful place!

  4. I recognize these beautiful buildings and they look so intense and different in black-and-white! I’ve been to Florence three times so far and I could easily go three times more – what a city! Beautiful photos Jennifer. 💚
