but I much prefer the summer version at the moment!

  4. P.S. I responded to your question. In case you didn’t see, yes, I do think this is a good time to query for a number of reasons. But also, research the agent’s twitter and the agency’s submission page to see if they are closed to submissions. If they aren’t, then go for it, because I reckon they have more time right now to take on clients. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. This isn’t a good time for them to pitch to publishers probably, but it’s a good time to get ready to pitch to publishers once the economy settles.

    1. Thanks so much. I did see your response. I have been checking submission pages but have not seen any changes yet. I thought I’d give it a few more days to see if there are any updates. I read a tweet too, where an agent said her agency is very much interested in receiving queries. I pray the economy and everything else gets back to normal, hopefully sooner rather than later.

  7. Jennifer, driftwood always seems to be evocative and it is especially so with these photos here! They are sublime, soulful, peaceful! I like both very much, but even though I long for summer I’m taken with the winter one more, as the driftwood takes centre stage amongst the bluest of snow! 😀 I love your accompanying thought provoking quotations as well!     1. I get how you prefer the winter scene, Annika. My sister pointed out as well how the winter scene fits better with the “seal” as we never see them around in summer! And the quotes reaffirm for me why I love photography as an amateur. 😊Thanks so much, and you have a great week too. xx

  8. I love the contrast and compare photos! Both are equally lovely and remind me of the quotes by Yoko Ono:

    “Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
    Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
    Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
    Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”

    I have a feeling your are in the “remembering perseverance” stage. It is almost the time for spring to offer the joyful breath of beginning warmth.

  13. Jennifer, I am really taken with both photos. As you say, we long for summer and warmth now but the
    photo of the driftwood seal in winter is so pure in lines and the colour of the sky behind is wonderful.

    Driftwood is something I like a lot too so I understand what your u see.

    1. I certainly see your point, Crispina. Winter photography can be breathtaking, but where I’m ready for a change in seasons I can’t help but perk up at the promise of green grass, warm breezes, etc.
