Tomorrow, Monday September 23rd, is the first day of fall. Specifically, the 2019 fall equinox will begin at 3:50 a.m Eastern Standard Time on that morning. We tend to think the season starts September 20th or 21st, but the date varies. It ranges from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24.
Aside from this, I’m still trying to figure out where summer went. While I sulk over its all-too-brief appearance on my patch of the planet this year, I’m wistfully sharing this snap taken from my back deck on one of our loveliest summer days, August 4th.
While everyone else seems to have embraced fall and are busy with their updated plans and schedules, I’m here wishing I could turn back the calendar. 🌞 🌞 🌞
I’m with you! I think that’s why I love the 4th of July–the rest of the summer looms ahead. No matter what I do, the time always passes so quickly. I think the summer equinox brought the last warm night in Boston. Love that photo, by the way.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of cold weather much, I admit. And the summer always disappears too quickly. Glad you liked my photo. 🙂 You have a beautiful blog, by the way!

Such a beautiful sight, Jennifer. I can understand why you want to hang on to that. You picked the perfect color to paint your house – to match the sky and sea!

Thanks, Barbara. We love the colour too. Btw, in four years our house will be 100. 😀

Wow, that’s great! Ours is only 25 years old, so we have a ways to go!

I’m with you. Let’s bring back summer- on your deck. Your view trumps mine.

If only it was as easy as that, to wish it back. Cool and drizzly here today so the deck is lonely. 😆 Thanks for dropping by!

Hello there. As the years go by, I become less and less a fan of summer. Too much heat. Despite that, I like having four distinct seasons in my part of the globe (Pennsylvania, USA).

Hi! We seldom have too much heat here, so summer is usually quite pleasant. I’m a fan of the seasons too, although our spring is more of a very slow winding down of winter.

A gorgeous summer picture Jennifer. Summer is still lingering here, we haven’t quite made it into autumn yet.

I understand. We had a summer about a decade ago that was overcast, cool and rainy. Didn’t like it one bit!

Autumn has always been my favorite season of the year. Of course, summers are hot and sticky in the south. There’s just something about the brilliant colors and blue skies of Fall that appeal to me.

Normally it’s my favourite season too, Connie, but this year summer left me feeling a little ripped off. August was pretty nice, but other than that it was mostly a disappointment weather wise. But like you, I do like when the trees change colour.
