Summer’s End

Tomorrow, Monday September 23rd, is the first day of fall. Specifically, the 2019 fall equinox will begin at 3:50 a.m Eastern Standard Time on that morning. We tend to think the season starts September 20th or 21st, but the date varies. It ranges from Sept. 21 to Sept. 24.

Aside from this, I’m still trying to figure out where summer went. While I sulk over its all-too-brief appearance on my patch of the planet this year, I’m wistfully sharing this snap taken from my back deck on one of our loveliest summer days, August 4th.

While everyone else seems to have embraced fall and are busy with their updated plans and schedules, I’m here wishing I could turn back the calendar. 🌞 🌞 🌞

  1. I’m with you! I think that’s why I love the 4th of July–the rest of the summer looms ahead. No matter what I do, the time always passes so quickly. I think the summer equinox brought the last warm night in Boston. Love that photo, by the way.

  2. Autumn has always been my favorite season of the year. Of course, summers are hot and sticky in the south. There’s just something about the brilliant colors and blue skies of Fall that appeal to me.

    1. Normally it’s my favourite season too, Connie, but this year summer left me feeling a little ripped off. August was pretty nice, but other than that it was mostly a disappointment weather wise. But like you, I do like when the trees change colour.
