Winter Morning Haiku

Peaceful winter morn
Dressed in snow – the only sound:
Soft moan of the sea.

I wish this was the view from our yard today, but no. This snap was taken last winter when we had snow. Positively springlike all weekend!

  1. I could HEAR the sea’s moans in your haiku. Lovely! But in my mind, you’re LUCKY you’ve been snow-less and warm (or you were). We’ve had a total of about a foot or so, and the earth is white and COLD here in NE. I can’t wait for summer when I can travel to the ocean and listen to it rant and rave. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Pam! We have not fared too badly so far this winter, not like many other areas that are getting brutal and extreme weather.
I can’t wait for summer either. It will be nice when that time rolls around again. Have a great weekend! 🙂

  2. An enchanting winter scene, Jennifer and tender poem. Glad you have Springlike weather this year…we did – yesterday! Gave me a chance to view some bulbs peeking out of the ground, exploring the world of daylight though I think they might regret their early showing.

  3. So atmospheric and beautiful picture Jennifer. O.k., last winter…but it was there.
We have the same weather as you, I have even been doing some work in the garden and found lots of high bulbs grown and buds on bushes and trees.
