Waking up too soon
dreams dissolve, sleep elusive,
I rub my tired eyes
But then my heart smiles
a new day, a new chance – Life’s
consolation prize.
Do you ever wake up too early?
Or do you like to start every morning at daybreak?

Gorgeous pictures, Jennifer. I love mornings, and if I had your ocean view I’d love them even more. 🙂 When we stayed in a beach cabin for a weekend, I got up earlier than usual to catch a sunrise.

WOW! what a stunning morning to wake up to Jennifer. Paradise indeed. Morning, especially early morning is my favourite part of the day. Just me and the birds and the beautiful mountain. Whats not to love.

Kath, you are right, early mornings are the best. I believe we think more clearly then. Thanks. 😊

Me too! Cannot write or create art late at night, not any more. The eyes are not good enough let alone the brains sharpness.

If I have to take my car into work, as opposed to the train, I’m up at 4.45am (just to miss the horrendous Joburg/ Sandton traffic). On train days, I’m up at 6am. When I am on holiday at the coast, I love to wake up around 5ish and make the most of the early, quiet time by the sea. Early morning is such a beautiful, hopeful time of the day. Your sunrise photos are gorgeous.

Thank you, Jacquie. It sounds like you get to experience many early mornings! You’re right, it is a beautiful part of the day, a quiet time when we can think, plan and hope. 🙂

Never too early. I am usually awake and working by 5:30. I love the sunrise – I love your sunrises – they are among the day’s most beautiful gifts.

Then you get a lot of gifts, Fred! Thanks. 🙂

I hate the act of getting up, but I love morning. It’s when I still have the courage and energy to get going on things I’ve been neglecting for too long. Like a moment of clarity. Mornings ❤

Hello, Annikäse. I hear you, the hardest part is getting from horizontal to vertical, isn’t it? 😉

Wow! So beautiful Jennifer!
I would get up for that 😃

Thanks, Val. I should make a resolution to get up early more often. Oh, the sunrises I can capture! 🙂

What a way to wake up. I get up before the sun but you have inspired me to stepping outside at 6:06am to see the show.

I inspired you! Love that. Tell me later how it works out!

I’m four days into my ‘inspiration’ and have yet to remember to go outside before the sun comes up. Yikes! I’ll keep trying.

I love to wake up early! My kids start getting up at 5:30 on school mornings, but I beat them by getting up a half hour before that. Seeing the new day begin always fills me with energy!

Of course I can’t stay awake late so it’s a trade-off!

I’ve never been a truly early bird but it feels so good when I am! Day just seems to play out better . . .

You sound like me. I agree, the day does seem to play out better (unless you didn’t get sufficent shut-eye, of course!).

I do get up before day-break. It is the best time of the day. I love seeing the sun come up. It means a grand new day.

I don’t intentionally get up early, but when I do, I love watching the sun come up Jennifer. This morning I lay in bed and thought it must be almost time to get up and then I looked at the clock and it was only 1:15AM!

Yikes! Do you go to bed early? Some nights I don’t get to bed until 12 or 1, a habit I wish I could break. I’d love to be the sort who gets up early more often to see the sunrise. 🙂 xo

I try to get to bed by 10 on work nights so I can get 8 hours sleep Jennifer.

I don’t know about wise, but I notice eating right and exercising is ineffective when I don’t get enough sleep!

That is so true. A good night’s sleep is highly underrated by many, and catching up on weekends is no good either.

I do wake up too early sometimes. I find it more frustrating than peaceful, so if it isn’t too much earlier than usual, I’ll just get up and start my workout sooner than I normally would. Extra time to get work done later. 🙂

You sound like my daughter. She’s an OR nurse and she works out early every morning before she goes in.
I was frustrated yesterday when I felt I had no other choice but get up. By the time I came downstairs, made coffee and watched the sunrise, I was peaceful. 🙂

I love to wake too early and be able to turn over and go back to sleep! But sometimes it’s wonderful to be up for dawn, especially one as beautiful as this (as I am most days walking the dog)

Andrea, I can usually turn over and go right back to sleep but not this morning! I’ve a feeling I’ll be nodding off early this evening. 😴💤
