Sea and Sky

We might not have the greatest weather in Newfoundland, but we do have some of the loveliest views.

I can’t seem to get enough of our local brand of vitamin Sea.

I have a treasure trove of pics from our visit to the town of Bonavista.
This one is perfect for the theme of half sea and half sky.

Of course, this post would not be complete without a view from our own backyard.

Do you find the sea and sky as naturally therapeutic as I do?

  1. All blues vanished from our midst, concentrated in sea and sky, is certainly the best wellness wish one can give, as emphatically underlined by the pics here. All that intake of ozone rich air is showing in the sparkle on your face, jennifer…best wishes.

  2. Vitamin Sea ~ luv that!! What a view Jennifer!! We’re lucky to have a pretty nice view as well although we don’t have much in the way of the sea, we have some pretty nice mountains. (The Smoky’s) You’re view is stunning in the summer, ours is at it’s best in the fall. Lovely post my dear, hope you don’t mind if we share these lovely pics with our readers!! 😉 xo

  3. I have a love of the sea, too. So far I have had two homes close to a shore, but that isn’t hard, living on a small island! For us in UK the sea is a hungry caterpillar that nibbles persistently at the eastern coast, so even living inland the chances are you will enjoy sea views eventually! Beautiful pictures, by the way – the Atlantic in benign mood.

    1. Thank you. Yes, we islanders have a special relationship with the ocean, that’s for sure.
Frederick, I love those words: “the Atlantic in a benign mood”. And you’ve given me an idea for a future post: the Atlantic in a malignant mood! I realize these pics are of mostly calm seas, but we get plenty of the other kind too, and why not showcase those as well?

  4. I would love to visit Newfoundland some day; yours photos are always beautiful, and the combination of sea and sky stirs my soul. I’m lucky that two of our Great Lakes, Huron and Erie, are only a short drive from where I live, and their vistas are a balm I crave. Before I rebranded my blog, the header was a photo of Lake Huron.

    1. What is it about water that we love so much? Is it because we are mostly made of it? 🙂
Don’t come to NL this month: we’re having the coolest July on record! Praying for better weather for August and September.

  5. Hi Jennifer! I hope you had a good break! Your photos are absolutely stunning – certainly very lovely views. And yes, I find the sea and sky very therapeutic; felt that in fact, just gazing at your photos. What a view you have from your backyard – just beautiful.

      1. The west is very impressive although when you lived here a while and you see newcomers gushing over the mountains and scenery you realize that everything fades in the background. Of course from time to time your in awe of it. I always wanted to visit Newfoundland and perhaps someday I will. Be well.
