It seems the older I get, the more I treasure the chance to travel around this province. Even when I visit a Newfoundland community I’ve been in before, it’s as if I see it with new and more appreciative eyes.
Earlier this week, I accompanied Paul on one of his little road trips for work, this time on the Burin Peninsula Heritage Run. Our destination was the vibrant town of Grand Bank. I hadn’t been there in over a decade.
It was a rainy trip. But Good Fortune smiled down, the sun came out as soon as we got there, and so did my trusty camera.
The authentic old buildings and heritage architecture I found especially charming. I’ll let the pictures tell the story of what I loved about historic Grand Bank.

These photos are gorgeous. I’d love to go to Newfoundland someday. I often road trip to my mother’s house in New Hampshire. The drive on the New York turnpike is a bit dull, but once I get off at Troy, the rest of the way weaves through the mountains into New Hampshire. Is always lovely.

My husband and I drove from here to New York City in June of 2002, via Maine and the journey was as special as the destination.

Jennifer, I love how colorful the buildings are (they rival fall colors). In towns my favorite thing to drive by, besides gardens, is character buildings. In nature I love driving by bodies of water and through forests and mountains. Thank you for sharing some of my favorite things.

Jennifer what a beautiful town. I love the vivid colours of the buildings and the landscape. Awesome murals and quaint cafe’s. Sometimes I like to stop at the smaller towns on my way to the big city. Especially the ones by the sea. The light house shot is gorgeous.
